Read-a-Thon starting line!

It is starting!

And I am a bit late to it. Silly me forgot that noon GMT meant morning for me, and what I thought was me waking up with an early start was in fact me waking up late to join the fun.

Woopsy!

The Read-a-Thon starts with this little meme that I always find really fun, so here are my answers :

1)Where are you reading from today?
Montreal, Canada. More precisely, from my couch or the computer chair. Probably from under our cat, too!

2)Three random facts about me…
I like tuna. I like stripes. I like unicorns!

3)How many books do you have in your TBR pile for the next 24 hours?
Six! (see my previous post for the full list!)

4)Do you have any goals for the read-a-thon (i.e. number of books, number of pages, number of hours, or number of comments on blogs)?
I plan on reading 2 books, though I secretly hope for 3.

5)If you’re a veteran read-a-thoner, any advice for people doing this for the first time?
Plan a variety of reads in different genres to break monotony. Read shorter books for the same reason. Take at least a  5-10 minutes break every hour to move around a little. The energy you gain will help you get more reading done!

Here we go! 😀

Good luck. You’ve got some good books planned. If it’s as cool in Montreal as it is in Edmonton the. It’s a good day for reading.

Most people seem to have settled on 6 books for their Readathon pile. Hope you’re having a wonderful time. The advice you have given in your first posting is good for newbies and also an old vet like me!

I had a dream about a unicorn last night …

Ooh, you have LOLA in your pile! I’ve heard nothing but good things about that book!
It wasn’t so much the TV that was distracting now that I think of it, I was perfectly fine when it was Phineas and Ferb later, but the crime shows with the frequent screaming were majorly distracting!
    Happy read-a-thoning!

So sorry to have sent my cheers at the last minute. But everyone would love to hear your thoughts on what you think of the experience. Just key in the hash tags #readathon and/or #cheergolden. 🙂
